Get Lost

Aloha everyone! Today's song is Muckalee Creek Water by Luke Bryan. I'm very fond of this song because it's about going back to your roots and just getting lost in the feelings and memories. The meaning I interpret from this song is that it's okay to get lost sometimes. In music. In books. In your own thoughts. In your memories and sentiments. It is alright and even good sometimes to lose yourself and completely immerse yourself in the things that you love.

Luke Bryan is 37 years old and has five studio albums. He is also married and has two children.

"Muckalee Creek Water"

It flows underneath the 32 bridge,
And cuts through the heart of South Georgia.
Big copperheads and mean wild pigs,
And gators in the weeds waitin' for ya.

I leave my phone in the truck,
I leave my truck at the road
My four-wheeler gets me where I wanna go
I leave the world behind,
I pull my hat down low,
Get back to my roots, by a full moon glow

I got an old Jon boat that I stowed down there
On them hot summer nights when I get a-wild hare
I got a moonshine stash in a cypress stump
And a catfish line going - bump bump
An old tractor tire where I sit by the fire
And drink to a sweet swamp song.
So if you're looking for me, don't even bother
When I dip my feet in that Muckalee creek water.

Daddy brought me down here when I was a kid
Taught me how to bait a crawfish basket.
From the time I was old enough to walk
He had me running down squirrels and rabbits.

I feel right at home in this neck of the woods
If this was all I had, I'd be living good
So let the stock market do what it's gonna do
Let the dollar go down and gas over the roof

I got an old Jon boat that I stowed down there
On them hot summer nights when I get a-wild hare
I got a moonshine stash in a cypress stump
And a catfish line going - bump bump
An old tractor tire where I sit by the fire
And drink to a sweet swamp song.
So if you're looking for me, don't even bother
When I dip my feet in that Muckalee creek water.

I'm free, and I'm me
Being everything that I wanna be
Nobody jacking with me,
No sign of the city lights.
Hell with the city lights!

Well I got an old Jon boat that I stowed down there
On them hot summer nights when I get a-wild hare
I got a moonshine stash in a cypress stump
And a catfish line going - bump bump bump
An old tractor tire where I sit by the fire
And drink to a sweet swamp song.
So if you're looking for me, don't even holler
When I get down deep in that Muckalee creek water.
That Muckalee creek water.

Let Em Know!!!

Sorry guys! I know it's been a couple days but I'm busy with school almost over and stuff so... Anyhow, today's song: Rock'n'Roll by Avril Lavigne.

I know, I know, Avril again? But she is my namesake and you must admit this song is awesome! Also, I don't recommend it under any circumstance for EVERYONE, because it's pretty explicit and uncensored. One thing I'd like to cover is the video. I am sure this was some huge scandal when it first came out but honestly I think we need to stop judging people for who they love.

This is a wonderful vid and also, let em know I'm still being who I am!

Let 'em know that we're still rock n roll

I don't care about my make-up

I like it better with my jeans all ripped up
Don't know how to keep my mouth shut
You say, "So what (what)?"

I don't care if I'm a misfit

I like it better than the hipster bull
[Regular version:] I am the mother freaking princess
                                                                    You still love me

Some-somehow

It's a little different when
I'm with you
You know what I really am
All about
You know how it really goes
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
Some some way
We'll be getting out of this
Town one day
You're the only one that I
Want with me
You know how the story goes
Oh, oh, oh

When it's you and me

We don't need no one to tell us who to be
We'll keep turning up the radio
What if you and I
Just put up a middle finger to the sky
Let 'em know that we're still rock 'n roll

Rock 'n roll

Hey hey hey
Rock 'n roll
Hey hey hey

Call it a bad attitude dude

I'm never gonna cover up that tattoo
I might have a couple issues
You say, "Me too." (yeah)
Don't care about a reputation
Must be living in the wrong generation
This is your invitation
Let's get wasted

Some-somehow

It's a little different when
I'm with you

You know what I really am
All about
You know how the story goes
Oh, oh, oh

When it's you and me

We don't need no one to tell us who to be
We'll keep turning up the radio
What if you and I
Just put up a middle finger to the sky
Let 'em know that we're still rock 'n roll

Rock 'n roll

Hey hey hey
Rock 'n roll
Hey hey hey
Rock 'n roll, yeah

Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah

When it's you and me
We don't need no one to tell us who to be

We'll keep turning up the radio

What if you and I

Just put up a middle finger to the sky
Let 'em know that we're still rock 'n roll

When it's you and me

We don't need no one to tell us who to be
We'll keep turning up the radio

What if you and I

Just put up a middle finger to the sky
Let 'em know that we're still rock 'n roll

Rock 'n roll

Hey hey hey
Rock 'n roll
Hey hey hey

You Give Us Strength

The song for today's post is: 8th of November by Big & Rich. It is Memorial Day and this song is in honor of the troops in a famous battle. I just want to send a shout out to all the troops and military families everywhere. You all do so much for our country. Thank you so much for being strong for us and keeping our country safe.

It was brought to my attention in the comments that I should start adding the lyrics of the songs to my posts so I will go ahead and do that. Also please go ahead and recommend songs in the comments and tell me anything else I could do to improve and make the blog more interesting.

Here are the lyrics for the 8th of November:
Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
To fight for the red, white and blue
He was 19 and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do
He was dropped in the jungle where the choppers would rumble
With the smell of napalm in the air
And the sergeant said...look up ahead
Like a dark evil cloud, 1,200 came down on him and 29 more
They fought for their lives but most of them died in the 173rd Airborne

[Chorus:]
On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brothers away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
There were few men left standing that day
Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965, the 8th of November

Now he's 58 and his pony tail's gray
But the battle still plays in his head
He limps when he walks but he's strong when he talks
About the Shrapnel they left in his leg
He puts on a gray suit over his Airborne tattoo
And he ties it on one time a year
And remembers the fallen as he orders a tall one
And swallows it down with his tears

[Chorus]

Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965...
On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brother away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
There were few men left standing that day

[Chorus]

Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
TO fight for the red, white and blue
He was nineteen and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do

Judge Me Not

Okay guys, now that the whole intro deal is over I will just jump right in. Today's song is Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne. Here is why... The song is talking about a missed oppurtunity. It goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover because you might miss out on something really great.

Fun Facts: Avril Lavigne is my personal favorite artist right now just because she is so unafraid of being her own person. She has five studio albums, is 28 years old, and shares my name!

Thanks guys. Send the link to this blog to everyone you know and keep checking back!

My First Post!

Hi everyone! My name is Av Taylor. My blog is called Lyrics Are Life because it is what I call a "Song of the Day" blog. Each day I will write a blog post about a song, which will be my song for the day. It's kind of self explanatory but anyway... Each day I will also include why I chose the song I did, some facts about the artist, and a link to the YouTube video for the song. I would also like to point out that I have very diverse music tastes. I like pop, country, rock, alternative, etc. If you don't like my post one day, you may like it the next, so keep checking back to my site. Without further ado or explanation, my first blog post!

Today's song is: Who Knew by Pink. This is a marvelous song and it shows just how quickly you can lose someone or something. Don't take your lives or your possessions or even those you love for granted guys.

Fun Facts: Pink was born in September, is 34 years old, and has 9 studio albums. Her real name is Alecia Beth Moore and she is good friends with another fantabulous musician named Butch Walker.
